Wedding Dresses to Flatter Your Figure

You may at some point (maybe after a couple weeks of searching?) think you came upon the perfect dress in some bridal magazine. Okay, maybe you're just tired of searching and the sales lady pulls one off the rack and you think it MUST be the one...the price tag ends in your lucky number or you want to name your baby after the dress style, 'Caressa'. Sometimes believing in fate is needed, but in the case of dress desperation, I'd say no.
Realistically, there are some things to consider before picking the dress. We call come in different shapes and sizes, so that perfect mermaid dress may not speak the same language on you as it did on the mag model. Sorry to bust your bubble, I know, but its just that we grow up conditioned to see a dress in a store window or magazine, hear magic twinkling music, and think it was made for us--but the truth can sometimes be disappointing. You may LOOOOVE it, but it doesn't love YOUR figure, your height, your curves, your bust, or your hips. You want a dress that will accentuate all your assets and downplay your flaws, uniquely fitted to you.
There are so many factors in what makes a dress look good that it takes a few tries before arriving at a decision. Don't beat yourself up when you think you've found the right one, and it doesn't do a thing for you. You need to change your thinking a bit, that's all. The dress has to make YOU look head-over-heels gorgeous. You're not a vehicle to it's beauty, but it is to yours. Keep an open mind when dress shopping--a style you never would have considered may be your best bet. It can all be summed up by your body type--apple, pear, hourglass, straight. There are some dress suggestions for each body type coming up, so stay posted.
